This is the first time I've ever seen a Great Blue Heron take a fish from deep water. I normally observe them fishing from the shoreline. This heron swam with some cormorants before finally catching his own fish. Amazing these birds can swallow such large fish. Photos taken at the North Landing River (Honeybee Golf Course), Va. Beach.
